Applicant Eligibility

 

Married couples are accepted.

 

The age difference between the applicants and adopted child should be no more than 45 years.

 

Available Children

 

Children available for international adoption from Serbia are usually 6 years of age and up. Some exceptions apply.

 

Children are cared for in orphanage and foster home environments, depending on the child’s needs and available resources in the child’s region. Sibling groups are available.

 

Wait times are typically 12 months or less.

Travel Requirements

 

One trip to Serbia is required, typically 4-6 weeks in duration to finalize the adoption and return to Canada with your adopted child.
